National Recovery Month

Itr_bigger

Did you know that September is National Recovery Month? Are you or someone you love struggling to end your addiction? InTheRooms is an awesome social media site that can help you and/or your family through this difficult time. There are several different ways to utilize this site, no matter which stage of recovery you are currently in. There are tons of people you can talk to who will understand where you are coming from. This site helps people who are thinking about quitting and who have quit and are facing the day to day pressures that go along with fighting addiction.

This online community may be the sign of encouragement you or your loved one needs in order to get clean. One of the most important steps to sobering up is knowing that you are not alone. Talking to someone who has dealt with addiction and understands what you're going through, without judgment, may be the key to successfully change your life.

Take this time to use the information available to you to make a change that will give you control over your addictions and in turn, give you back your life. The first step is always the hardest.

Visit www.recoverymonth.gov for more information.

I don't think that people realize how addictions often go hand in hand, with mental illness. Addictions and mental illness need to be brought to the forefront and talked about openly. Thanks so much for the info. I'm going to send the link to InTheRooms, to a number of friends, who like me, have a child who is struggling.
