Cotton Malone's attempt to aid an old friend who has been kidnapped lands him in the middle of global intrigues involving U.S. and Russian oil interests, the control of China, and a two thousand year-old secret guarded by an underground army of terra-cotta warriors. Another death-defying chase through the past and present for fans of Steve Berry's The Charlemagne Pursuit.
The thrilling historical aspect of this book was one that took me in immediately. The Emperor's Tomb is thought-provoking and wise in many ways. There is only one thing I would change about this book and that's the length. You could probably cut out 60-70 pages and the story would flow better. Overall, I give it three stars.
